QUESTIONS?

Many questions get asked by visitors to church, newcomers to town, and friends and neighbors of our members. Below is a list of frequently asked questions about LBC. We hope you can find what you are looking for. If you have a question that does not appear on this list, please contact us and let us know how we may help you.

Children are a special part of our congregation and we value them as full participants in the life of our church. Following the Main Service’s Worship Time ending at 11:00 a.m, children are dismissed to participate in their own time of singing, prayer and Bible learning known. Sunday School classes for children begin at 11:00 a.m.

We have two worship services each Sunday, both held in the main hall. Our Chinese Service starts at 8:30 a.m until 10:30 a.m. Our English Service starts at 10:00 a.m. with our G3TEN time (getting to know each other). At 10:30 a.m the service starts which includes worship time and preaching.

We believe in open communion – that means that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is welcome to take communion, whether they are a church member or not.

No! Dressing up is not a requirement to worship with us at LBC. Some do wear their “Sunday best” but you’re also likely to see someone in slacks and a casual shirt, or even jeans.

We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Likas Baptist Church. We go to church early at 10:00 a.m to greet each other so everyone feels welcomed. We start at 10:30 a.m with announcements and church news; we share the congregation’s joys and concerns and lift them to God in prayer; we collect an offering to further God’s work; we sing and listen to our worship team leading us through a beautiful time of worship;  we pray for the children as they head out to their sunday class; we read the Bible and talk about it through the sermon;  and we take communion monthly.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and is the ultimate authority and our only source for truth. (See 2 Timothy 3:16-17.) Our vision is building god’s family (in relationship, character and gifting) through the Bible and spreading Christ’s fragrance.
